Making Disciples of Jesus Christ through worship, witness, study, service and fellowship

Mission Moment

This is being written the day before we leave for Honduras to do a medical/construction mission with UMVIM (United Methodist Volunteers in Mission) from Jan 7th-23rd. We had hundreds of meds and supplies to pack before leaving. With funds from our church of $249.75, we purchased children’s vitamins with iron. This allowed us to individually package a 3 month supply for 82 children!! On behalf of Mission committee we are so
grateful for this wonderful gift. Vern will work during the 2nd week there assisting the team in construction of cooking stoves. Look for the next newsletter telling of the team’s effort. Most importantly, we are so grateful for your prayers for success of this mission. Its efforts are all for the glory of our heavenly Father.

In Christ’s love,
Vern & Judy Heiler

A special thank you to the UMW for the donation of $100 to use for the Honduras UMVIM mission. We are giving this monetary donation to the UMVIM team leader, Chuck Garrigues, to use for purchase of much needed mission medication or supplies in Honduras. This gift is truly appreciated to enable the mission team to
help the less fortunate. Blessings, Judy & Vern Heiler

Churches in Action (CIA)

Thank you to all who participated by singing and/or baking cookies. We were able to share cookies, Christmas carols, and fellowship at 10 local group homes. We had a great turn-out this year with 144 carolers of all ages. It looks like Sunday evening worked for many to be able to participate. For many people this has become a favorite holiday tradition. The residents at the group homes also look forward to the evening, particularly the
cookies! Thanks, Susan Rich

Nicaragua Update !

First off, I would like to take a moment to thank anyone who supported my spaghetti dinner, be it by making donations, serving, preparing food or cakes, or even just coming to eat! The response was overwhelming, and I am happy to announce that I am officially finished with my fundraising for the trip. We made approximately $1400 on the spaghetti dinner, which was enough to bring us to our final goal. Thank you all for all of your support in my fundraising efforts, and I'll be glad to report much more on the trip when I return home in January!                              Erynn Motak

Eden/North Collins Food Pantry

Monthly donations on the 4th Sunday of the month are much needed.  For every $1.00 given to this cause, this dollar will purchase about $6.00 worth of food obtained by the Food Pantry at the WNY food bank.  A special collection jar is in the narthex on this 4th Sunday.  Over 80 families are served at this food pantry, which gives out food on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.

In Christ's love, Mission Committee-Vern & Judy Heiler, chairpersons.
