Welcome to the Eden United Methodist Women Hello! February is a busy month for the UMW. We have our General meeting on Monday, February 6, where Erynn Motak will be speaking about her recent mission trip to Nicaragua. The meeting starts at 7:30pm in the church sanctuary and we welcome everyone to join us to hear her speak. New Life Circle will hostess, so please join us for fellowship and refreshments. Also in February is UMW Sunday, on February 19. We hope to see you there. Our Circles have been keeping busy in the winter months. Friendship Circle gathered to make soup and bread for shut-ins and seniors last month, serving 23 families and donating a Happy New Year’s gift to the men at Turning Point. New Life Circle also boxed up dozens of cookies for the Eden/North Collins Food Pantry. Thank you again to everyone who helped with the Bon Ton Community Days. We will be tithing 10% and giving the remaining $1,430.58 to the Trustees toward a new tractor for the church. We are still looking for volunteers to serve on Church Council in 2012 as a representative of our UMW. If this interests you, please contact any member of the UMW. Also, we are still looking for women to serve on the Nominations Committee, as part of a Programs Committee, and as a Gateway Rep. Next board meeting will be March 12, 2012 at 7:30pm. Upcoming Events: February 6 UMW General Meeting with Erynn Motak to speak February 19 UMW Sunday March 2 World Day of Prayer (at ICC) March 12 UMW Executive Board Meeting March 31 Communion Breakfast at EUMC

A Picture Tea! Sometimes, after a wedding in our church, our brides like to have their guests stay while pictures are being taken, and have everyone go to the reception together. We are able to provide a "tea" of coffee, tea and our now famous "Methodist Punch" for the wedding guests. If you would like to have this service, please call Nancy Lance (549-5690) or the UMW president as soon as possible to plan this event. You would be responsible for expenses.
A Gift of Love - Funeral Dinners As part of their Christian Mission Outreach, United Methodist Women provide a service of love by preparing a dinner of food for the family following the funeral or memorial service of a church member or relative of our church family. If you would like to avail yourself of this service, arrangements may be made by calling Lillian Brenner (992-4026). You would be responsible for expenses.
Have your cake and eat it, too! To have a cake served by the Eden United Methodist Women after church to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, etc., call Nancy Hussong (649-3585) or the UMW president at least two weeks ahead of time. You will be responsible for expenses.
